—  About

When Eran Ryan photographed a homecoming concert featuring T-Pain and Ludacris during her time at the University of South Florida, she didn’t really think much of it. It was simply another night out with her trusty camera — the same one she’d used to snap photos of everything from her friends to her surroundings to her adorable baby rabbit named Midnight. A mostly useless degree in Classics and several years later, Eran found herself behind the camera once again, taking photos of music, sports, and culture events all over the country.

Her experience covering everything from massive music festivals (including Coachella, Governors Ball, Outside Lands, and many more) and tattoo conventions to some of the biggest skateboarding competitions and UFC cards in history has shaped who she’s become as both a photographer and a person over the last handful of years. During that time, Eran has also come to realize that she isn’t the first in her family to have a passion for photography, as her great-grandfather, Walter Allen, was breaking down barriers as an African-American professional photographer throughout much of the 20th century.

While sometimes chaotic, Eran’s loved every minute of the countless hours she’s spent in photo pits, tour buses, green rooms, and backstage hallways — even the frantic moments spent crawling around on the ground looking for her glasses at rowdy punk rock shows. Her portraits, live photography, and occasional written works have appeared in publications such as SPIN, Hustler, LA Weekly, PureVolume, Myspace, OC Weekly, Long Beach Post and Phoenix New Times as well as in art galleries in her home of Southern California. Her baby rabbit is now a wise old sage and still equally adorable.
